Im trying to valide the text of a JTextfield whenever the user types the key.I know this should be simple enough, however I must be using the wrong listener as when a Key Event is fired, it doesnt include the value I just typed. Now I give you some requests below, I'd like to listen your suggestions on it, and then I'll implement it. Want to validate the textfield as soon as some invalid text is entered. If is Emp ID field, error message is shown as soon as some non-integer value is entered. I would like to enter multiple email addresses in a single text-field, separate them with a semi-colon, and still be able to validate the input.I had tried it to validate once the whole form is submitted, but unable to provide solution for the above situation. For only one email address, I could succeed fine (see sample code below). That documentation contains more detailed, developer-targeted descriptions, with conceptual overviews, definitions of terms, workarounds, and working code examples. If the validation fails the control needs to retain focus. I used to do this by just poping up a warning dialog when an OK button is pressed.
I've read some articles about Document, it seems there is a better way to do text validations.
For example, if I already had a "4" in the field and typed a 5, the Key Event would return just "4" on a Text() What am I missing?
