Sirius radio keeps updating channels
Takes longer for the radio to get up and going when the antenna error happens but other than that it still works fine.
I have searched all over for a solution and no luck.
Sorry to hear about your problem, hope it gets resolved soon! I have yet to get an updating message, that I have noticed, but I dont drive the car very much.
And I havent had any antenna errors/messages either. I have never seen updating subscription message, only updating channels, I can turn off the radio, turn it back on in 30 seconds, I will get that message again, its very tiring seeing all the time.
It only says "updating...please call......" Only had the Tig for a week so I really haven't wanted to bring it back to the dealer for a fix. I've updated my firmware on my RNS over a year or so ago to SW1140 with no issues - until last week.
Started seeing the 'updating channels' message almost every time I start the car.
Regional Manager names for direct customer interaction (they can fill you in on more detail should you need it).
For those of you who have Sirius XM, can you please tell me how many times you see the message, updating channels, on the radio/nav display.
I also manually updated the firmware awhile ago, which seemed to cause a few of the problems. I currently have 34,000 miles, I looked backed at my paperwork from the dealer, I started having radio issues at about 4,000 miles, so I have been dealing with this for a long time, I know its their issue to fix. I've heard that upgrading the firmware sometimes solves these problems but I'm not sure.
They do it by putting your SDARS unit's EIN into a "protected tier" in their computer system so that when they tell their system to send all the channels for free, our radios do not accept more than the total number of channels which our head units were designed to hold which causes them lock up." Read more: "Sirius XM has established a process where they add the ESN of the affected vehicle to a "protected tier" they have established for these MB vehicles in their system.
It prevents the radio from seeing the additional channels and thus solves the problem.
I get that message every time I start the car, VW is trying to tell me that its Sirius that I have to deal with.
I highly doubt they update the channels that often.
